Although not a true Russian Blue, Pasha (Russian for small and humble) has a story that would make a good Russian novel. How will it end? Well dear potential pet parent, that is up to you. Pasha started out life as a community cat. He was fixed, ear tipped and returned to his colony, but life intervened and Pasha's right rear leg was seriously injured in some way while he was outside. Due to the length of time before he was brought to our attention as needing help, his leg mended itself but, alas, would not bear weight. He has no pain and is not all bothered by his leg, but poor Pasha was not able to be an outside cat anymore, so Sheltering Hands took him back in to try and see if he could transition to the life of an indoor cat. Timid and shy, Pasha hid from people. He would watch with his beautiful eyes, but was not sure he was safe and so would only interact with people once he got to know them. Time went by and although Pasha's leg caused him no problem and he was healthy in all ways, his little heart had not yet made a connection. One of our Board members who has a soft spot for kitties with special needs offered to take Pasha home with her to see if a home setting could be the ticket to happiness for him. What a transformation!! Pasha has just blossomed and in just two weeks has learned to eat with gusto, purr continually, flop over for non-stop belly rubbing and look out windows with intense interest. Pasha has met the other fur kids including 6 other special needs cats and one great big loving Great Pyrennes mix dog and hasn't blinked an eye. He runs up to his foster mom, in his own cute way, and can't wait to be petted. He can and does jump up on chairs and makes himself at home. He may be small and humble, but he has a huge heart, filled with love. He is just waiting for his happy ending where he will find a parent who will love him as he is, a silky soft ball of purring love who just happens to walk a little funny." It will take him a week or so to get to know you, but once he feels loved, you will have his whole, beautiful heart. Pasha is good with other cats and gentle dogs. He is very neat with his litter box. He enjoys rolling himself up in towels or blankets. He allowed me to trim his nails and enjoys being brushed. He eats both dry and canned food and has a healthy appetite. Since Sheltering Hands home delivers each adopted cat, all adopters must live in the North Central Florida area.
