When Sir Midas was found his collar was partially embedded into his neck.  (As he grew, his collar did not).  He also had been recently shot with BBs.   Fortunately he has recovered from his abuse and has become a sweet guy.  It may take a couple minutes to gain his trust but let him come to you and he will purr and rub against your hand to let you know you're OK in his book.  He lets you pick him up but it's obvious it's not his favorite thing.  He loves to play.  He would probably do best as an only cat in a quiet home, but he has learned to tolerate other animals.
