Huntley is one of those cats that is slow to trust but with a little patience you will find that he desperately wants to be petted and will lean into your hand and purr to try to show you. He was taken in by an elderly gentleman with a big heart. But a couple years and a fall made him realize it was not in Huntley's best interest to stay with him. He gets a long with other cats and is also good with kids. Check back for updates as we learn more about him. Volunteer Update: Huntley has had a hard time adjusting to shelter life. He likes to hang out in cubbies where he feels safe, but also likes to be petted. He responds to treats and interactive play with strings and other toys. He deserves a home with someone who will be patient with him and let him adjust in his own time. Volunteer Update: What a difference a few months has made in Huntley's life. He came to us skinny with scabs all over his body from fleas with no confidence at all that humans would do right by him. Now he is out and about wanting to spend time with people and loving some attention. Since Sheltering Hands home delivers each adopted cat, all adopters must live in the North Central Florida area. Thank you for understanding. You can meet this wonderful kitty by appointment with an approved application. Pre-adopt applications are available here: www.shelteringhands.org/info/adoption If you have additional questions you can email Sheltering Hands at adoptions@shelteringhands.org.
